Free webinar with Dr Chaz Dixon, FRIN, MION, Radio Systems and PNT1 Expert

In the first quarter of the 21st Century, satellite-based positioning and tracking has become firmly embedded in modern society and is nearly ubiquitous. It has a role to play to support Accident Investigations.

In this talk Dr Dixon will provide an overview of the several modern GNSS systems and explain how they work – members may (or may not) be grateful that maths will be kept to a bare minimum! He will present examples of GNSS Devices and describe the best (and worst) of Location Data evidence. His focus for this Webinar will be on GNSS devices carried within the colliding vehicle(s). He will explain what information can be gleaned from the records of such devices and how much reliance can be placed on it for accident investigations and, where necessary, presented at Court. He will also explain a few of the "tricks and traps" to be wary of when handling GNSS evidence.

Dr Dixon is an internationally recognised expert in Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) and Location Technologies, and the forensic analysis of such evidence for legal cases. He is an Expert Advisor registered with National Crime Agency and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He has 35 years' industry experience in Location Technologies, Radio Systems, RadioNavigation, Communications, and Geographic Information Systems and 10 years' experience in legal cases.

The webinar is on 27th April 2022 at 10:00 BST [please ignore any error in the automated emails where the time might be shown as being in a different zone
