From Swallow to Jaguar – The First 100 Years
The name ‘Jaguar’ has become recognised around the world for quality motoring at affordable prices, offering the ‘man-in-the-street’ the very best in performance in beautifully crafted motor cars, with motor sport being a driver of Jaguar’s reputation. But how has Jaguar become a name so admired by so many? It is probably fair to say, a lot of it is legend, even folklore, that has propelled the Company into legendary status. This talk explores both the facts, and the myths, that have all come together to make the legend that is Jaguar. Following the course of the last 100 years since the Swallow Side Car and Coachbuilding Company was formed in 1922, right up to the ‘Reimagine’ strategy that is directing the new millennium for the Company, Peter will take many of those ‘facts and myths’ and paint the picture of how Jaguar became one of the motor industry’s enduring icons. Be prepared for some surprising facts, and some interesting myths that have endured to this day and helped to establish the legend that is Jaguar, with a glimpse into the future to see where this famous company is headed.
