Autonomous vehicles as appreciating assets: the challenges for automotive assessors
Contrary to the depreciation approach adopted ever since personal passenger vehicles started production, autonomous vehicles bring a whole new paradigm shift. Appreciating assets such as professional and production equipment have been modeled extensively by analytics professionals across various fields. In this talk we are going to discuss the new challenges and the datafication challenges involved with damage attribution and risk assessment for insurance purposes.
Dr Nikolaos Korfiatis is an associate professor in Business Analytics at the University of East Anglia (UEA). He holds an MEng in Information technology from Toyal Institute of Technology, KTH (Stockholm) and a PhD in Information Management from Copenhagen Business School (Denmark). Before joining UEA he worked with various automotive companies in Germany in the field of reliability assessment and value depreciation for various classes of Vehicles.
